A stone staircase and a few new garden beds

This is the stone staircase we started yesterday!  We finished today!  I was really pleased with the results.  This project brought me back to my Appalachian Trail Crew days and all those stairways we built!  This was a little bit more fun-and certainly quicker!  We harvested the stones from all over the farm.  Those cute little buildings it frames are the outhouses. ~note the large stone in the front…we built a waiting bench into the edging!

We planted into our new flower beds petunia’s, nasturtium, datura, zinnias, moon flower, and a few others.  We were all very proud of our handiwork!

As we ladies worked on that, John finished constructing the small hoophouse and in the afternoon we put in three varieties of tomatoes, including two rows of sun golds~(yum!)

Have I mentioned how lovely the flowers are?  Check out these foxgloves…a new favorite for sure!
